With the rise of GPS and navigational systems, the use of paper maps for many is relegated to their annual visit to Treinen Farm when attempting the maze. However, that was not always the case. At one point, a map was the only way in which one could navigate the world. However, these maps of old were filled with warnings of treacherous seas, including that which may lay in the deep.
For our 2013 Release the Kraken Maze we were inspired by old maps that showed sea monsters prowling the deep. The maze featured not only a giant kraken but other creatures of the deep, all laying in wait for our suspecting sail boat. Also included in the design were different types of compasses, both beautiful and useful.
Much like seafarers of old, we hoped visitors would venture bravely into the deep of the maze. There, who knows what they might encounter?
