Our 2025 maze is an American Badger, to celebrate the Badger State! (Which is Wisconsin, in case you weren’t sure…)
Wisconsin received the nickname “The Badger State” because in the early 1800’s Southwestern Wisconsin miners often moved into abandoned mine shafts for shelter, as they were too busy mining to take the time to build houses. These miners were referred to as badgers and eventually Wisconsin became known as the badger state. The badger is the official state animal, and Bucky Badger is the mascot of UW-Madison*.
This year’s intricate 15-acre maze design pays homage to Wisconsin’s iconic nickname and the deep roots of Badger State heritage. We chose the Badger theme to celebrate what makes Wisconsin truly special—our history, our natural beauty, and the friendly, hardworking people who call this place home.
