2001 Treinen Farm Corn Maze

2001 Horse and Cart Corn Maze

Before the corn maze, Treinen Farm was just a small pumpkin patch that also offered horse-drawn wagon rides. Although picking pumpkins was popular with families with young children, most people stopped visiting annually once their kids grew up. Looking for something that would make people want to come back year after year, Angie brought up the idea of a corn maze. Growing up on a farm, Alan was skeptical that anyone would pay to get lost in corn. But with some convincing, they put in the first ever Treinen Farm corn maze.

The 2001 corn maze was designed with help from a graphic design company and featured a horse pulling a cart, much like the iconic original logo for Treinen Farm. Alan actually bought his first pair of Belgian draft horses in 1983 and began giving wagon rides at a local campground. In 1991 the farm first offered the pumpkin patch and horse-drawn wagon rides. Soon becoming an area icon, draft horses have always been an iconic part of Treinen Farm.

Now, Treinen Farm is home to both Belgian and Percheron draft horses, several of whom were even born here at the farm. Seeing the horses out in the pasture or up on the hill is always an awe-inspiring sight.

Since 2001, Treinen Farm has undergone many changes. However, one thing that remains the same is our desire to provide fun for all ages every fall.
